“No Satisfaction”

an exhibit of contemporary culture captured in clay

Sift through the thousands of images we are bombarded with each day.  Welcome to the beautiful and noxious age of image culture, where images replace our sense of reality with the desire for an unattainable, constantly changing ideal.  Through the process of combining print, photography, and clay, ceramic artist Elizabeth Copan explores the many layers that make up our body image and sense of self. 

The exhibition “No Satisfaction” is an intimate personal and cultural history reflected in shards and slabs of flesh-like clay.  Copan evokes a glamorous sense of eroding beauty through the multiplicity of images, metaphoric use of layering, and the tactility and fragility of the ceramic object.

“No Satisfaction” opens Friday April 6^th at Heebee Jeebees, located at 318a East Colorado Avenue, and runs through Friday May 25^th.  For more information about this event, please contact Heebee Jeebees at 719-635-0620
